meet the most interesting photographer in the world…

not really… I've just always wanted to say that.

Hi! Rocco here, owner and photographer of Christopher Matthews Photography.

Occasionally I will get a call or message asking to speak with Christopher or sometimes Mr. Matthews. I usually proceed to explain that while you can speak with him you're probably not going get very far. Chris is my 7 year old and Matt is my 4 year old boy. Christopher Matthews Photography is my brainchild (no pun intended) photo business. While CMP is relatively new as a company my wedding and photography experience spans decades.

As a graduate of Paier College of Art with a BFA in Illustration, many of my talents were refined by my instructors who passed their knowledge onto me.

I believe the foundation to all good photography is good art. Every interesting image has basic fundamentals that draw your eye in and capture your imagination. Composition, color, saturation, hues, subject matter, overall shapes and lines all play an important role in images.

I'm fortunate enough to have the ability to envision and capture those images that some people might overlook and I'm very grateful for that talent. I'm equally grateful for the ability to share that talent with my clients, do what I love, put food on the table and put smiles on peoples' faces.

It's extremely rewarding when I see my clients' reactions as they view their images for the first time. Some people are in awe, some laugh hysterically, and a lot shed tears. The same goes when they get the bill. Lol!

Some random tidbits:

- I'm an excellent cook! Yes, I can bring home the bacon, fry it in a pan and take a cool pic of it too.

- I speak Italian. Although it's a watered down southern Italian dialect, it's Italian none the less.

- I was an avid freestyle bmx rider, in my thinner years of course. Yep, I used to catch air on half-pipes and twirl around on flatland like nobody's business.

- My life situations sometimes eerily resemble those of George Castanza.

- I love wood working, building and creating things. You can never have too many tools. Apparently my wife disagrees with this.

- Favorite movie of all time, Pulp Fiction.
